  • Study on the Lessons and Experience of Community Environmental GovernanceWANG MingThis is an emergency project of CIDEG. The enlightenment Minamata disease brings to China has six main points: 1) to learn the lessons of Minamata disease; 2) to balance the relationship between environmental protection and economic development; 3) to coordinate the contradictions between the development of civil society and community culture; 4) to establish the cooperation among stakeholders based on the rule of law; 5) to make media promote social fairness; 6) to take advantage of the platform of domestic and international cooperation to share the experience and lessons of industrial development.

  • Research on the Perception and Management of Risks of Overseas Investment of Enterprise in ChinaSHEN HuaThis is an emergency project of CIDEG. The research analyzes how incentive mechanism influences the risks of overseas investment of enterprises in China. Then, it explores how to effectively control risks through policy design. It is necessary to analyze the differences between the risks of state-owned enterprises and private enterprises. The interaction and the different incentive mechanisms of these two enterprises are also important. Only by clarifying these incentive mechanisms, could we avoid the incentive dislocation in the policy design. The desired policy effect could be achieved, making our enterprises more and more stable in the "going out" road.

  • Study on Financial Appropriation System on Science and Technology in ChinaRU PengThis project is an emergency project of CIDEG, focusing on the financial appropriation system on science and technology in China. There are five main contents: (1) analysis of the evolution and current situation of allocation system on science and technology in China; (2) to study the structure of financial investment in science and technology; (3) to study allocation mechanism of funds on science and technology projects; (4) to study on financial management mechanism of science and technology project funds; (5) to study the optimization strategy and policy recommendations for technology funding system in China.

  • Study on the Emergency Management System of Great Earthquake in JapanSHEN HuaThis is an emergency project of CIDEG. The research study emergency response system of the great earthquake in China from the perspect of emergency managemen. The target of the research is to summarize experience and lessons from the response of Japan in response to the catastrophe, and compare them with the earthquake emergency management system in China. The research try to contribute to the improvement of the emergency management system in China.

  • The Practice of Environmental Policy in the Process of UrbanizationMENG JianjunThis project is a key project of CIDEG. The research study the environmental policy process in Japan in the process of urbanization from the perspect of public policy through a large number of field research.

  • Research on Automobile Energy Strategy in ChinaFENG FeiThis study is a key project of CIDEG, focusing on automotive energy strategy in China. The contents include: (1) the trend, strategy and policy of global automotive energy; (2) the current situation and development ability of automobile energy technology in China; (3) the energy efficiency and emission analysis of main alternative energy; (4) analysis of the automobile energy resources in China based on the scenarios, including coal, petroleum, hydropower, nuclear power and so on; (5) the strategic conception of automobile energy in China; (6) security measures.

  • The New Development of Global Governance System and the Role of China in G20ZHANG YanbingThis is an emergency project of CIDEG. The research discusses the new development of global governance system and the role of China in G20. It mainly focuses on three aspects: 1) the mechanism construction for G20 summit and its influence on the existing global governance system; 2) G20 and the reform of international financial system; 3) G20 and the international development assistance system reform.

  • How should China meet the challenge of global climate changeHU AngangThis project is a CIDEG emergency project, it focuses on addressing one core problem: How should China meet the challenge of global climate change and cope with the international pressure faced by international climate negotiations in the era of Post-Kyoto. Specifically, (1) studying global climate change’s influence on China and China’s policy measures to cope with climate change. (2) Studying how should China attend international climate negotiations and how should China participate in global climate governance. Also, assessing China’s unequivocal commitment to reduce emission and the feasibility of China undertaking its international responsibilities.

  • A study of energy price changes’ influence on industrial restructuring, income distribution and CPILI ShantongThis project is a CIDEG emergency project, it plans to start with analyzing the transmission mechanism of energy price changes’ influence on industrial restructuring, income distribution and CPI. This project utilizes Dynamic Computable General Equilibrium as a core research tool, which is supported by metering method and statistical analysis method. Through introducing the alternative equation of energy products, the alternative equation of energy and basic elements, income distribution equation and resident grouping equation, establishing energy consumption indicator system, income distribution and household consumption model. Utilizing the established model to simulate the degree and track of energy price changes’ influence on industrial structure optimization, pricing structure and residents with different income level. On this basis, putting forward policy suggestions for the formation mechanism of energy price in China, energy price policy adjustment and so forth.

  • A green growth path: a study of the emission reduction target and course of action in ChinaHU AngangThis project is a CIDEG emergency project, its main research content is the emission reduction target and course of action of greenhouse gases in China. Also, it puts forward recommendations for Copenhagen Climate Change Conference held in the end of 2009. The concrete content includes two parts: feasibility research on greenhouse gases emission reduction target and research on public policy and management system of Chia’s commitment to reduce emission.

  • Innovation in pilot projects of urban renewal and “village in the city” renovationTAO Ran This project is a CIDEG emergency project, its main research content is the innovation model of the “village in the city” renovation in the context of the current development phase of China and particular institution. Specifically, (1) an analysis of the models of “village in the city” renovation in different areas and its influencing factors. (2) Formation mechanism of compensation and resettlement for “village in the city” demolition. (3) “Village in the city” renovation and relevant international experience on compensation and resettlement for demolition. (4) Institutional innovation scheme and policy mix of “village in the city” renovation.

  • A social-cognitive study of local government’s choice of new energy technologyDAI YixinThis project is a CIDEG emergency project, its main research content is the social cognition of local government’s choice of new energy technology. Specifically, (1) a summary of local government’s current decision-making on new energy technology. (2)Example of local government’s choice of new energy technology. (3) An analysis of the decision-making process of local government’s choice of new energy technology and the participants. (4) The decision-making model of local government’s choice of new energy technology. (5) The institutional problems existing in local government’s choice of new energy technology. (6) Institutional and policy suggestions on local government’s choice of new energy technology.

  • Infrastructure: a study of environmental governanceQI ShufangThis project is a CIDEG emergency project, its main research content is the environmental governance of large-scale infrastructure projects. To be more specific, this research includes investigating the design of Chinese railway industry’s environmental assessment and strategic environmental assessment system and the implementation of it, taking high speed railway as an example.

  • Strategies and policies to achieve cutting-edge innovationGAO ShijiThis project is a CIDEG major project, the specific research contents of it include the following three aspects: 1. Specifically analysing the indigenous technologies improvement of some industries and the development and international links of relevant industrial organizations under a global perspective. 2. Combined with theoretical researches and analysis of international experience, discussing the relevant institutional problems and policy issues that the cutting-edge competitive industries face. 3. Based on the aforementioned empirical and theoretical study, exploring the policy adjustment and institutional adjustment need to be done to support the competition in cutting-edge innovation. The exploration will focus on discussing the implementation process of achieving corresponding institutional adjustment and policy adjustment.

  • Research on the Governance Mechanism and Policy of Air Pollution Prevention and Control in ChinaWANG HaiqinThis project is an emergency project of CIDEG, focusing on the evaluation of design and effect of air pollution control joint in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. The specific contents include: the feasibility and Implementation conditions of the emission reduction control by using the method of coal consumption total amount control and trading mechanism; the feasibility and implementation conditions of joint emission reduction by using the coal consumption total amount control mechanism based on administrative command; using the cost-benefit analysis method, the expert interview method and the questionnaire survey method to assess the expected effect and implementation costs of the above mitigation mechanisms quantitatively and qualitatively, to help to find out reasonable joint control and mitigation policy mean.

  • Carbon Emissions of Residents and Urban Development: Evidence from ChinaZHENG SiqiThis project is an emergency project of CIDEG. There are three main contents. First, it trys to collect, sort out and estimate the number of environmental and energy use indicators in various cities in China. Second, according to the theory of environmental economics, an econometric model is established to analyze the relationship among energy consumption, environmental quality and urban growth indicators. Following questions are answered, inculding the impact of China's rapid urbanization on the environment and which urban growth model is more "green"? International comparison is also included. Third, based on the empirical analysis, this paper puts forward some public policy suggestions to reduce the negative environmental impact of urban growth.

  • The Influence of the Reform of Financial Management System on Local GovernmentHOU Yilin, WANG YouqiangThis project is a major project of CIDEG. It investigates the role and influence of the reform of the financial management system in the implementation of the tax sharing system since 1994.
