In 2017, the Center for Industrial Development and Environmental Governance of Tsinghua University established the research topic "Research on the Transformation of Industrial Policy to Competition Policy" and invited Jiang Feitao, director of the Industrial Integration Research Department and associate researcher of the Institute of Industrial Economics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, to be the project leader. The book "Understanding China's Industrial Policy" was published as an important result of the research team's careful polishing on the basis of this topic. The book further explores the respective roles and interrelationships between industrial policy and competition policy, pointing out that China must attach great importance to the function of competition in the market mechanism and its importance.
