On Sep. 28,  No. 146 CIDEG Academic Salon was held in Room 302, the School of Public Policy and Management (SPPM) at Tsinghua University. Susan Baker, Professor of Environmental Policy at Cardiff University and Joint Director of Sustainable Places Research Institute of Cardiff University, was invited to give a keynote speech on “Social Cohesion and Sustainable Places: Aran Island of Ireland.” Paul Chaney, Professor of Policy and Politics at Cardiff University and Joint Director of Wales Institute of Social Economic Research and Data (WISERD), Sin Yi Cheung, Associate Professor of School of Social Sciences, Cardiff University, and XIAO Lin, Associate Research Fellow of Institute of Sociology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences attended the Salon. 

    ZHU Xiaoyang, Professor of Department of Sociology, Peking University, and GUO Weihe, Dean and Professor of Department of Sociology, Minzu University of China, were invited to be commentators. CHEN Ling, Associate Professor of SPPM, Deputy Director of CIDEG, moderated the Salon. More than 30 teachers and students from Tsinghua University, Peking University and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences participated in the Salon.
