On May 31, No.145 CIDEG Academic Salon was held in Room 620, the School of Public Policy and Management (SPPM) at Tsinghua University. Dr Jane Long, the Joint Chairpersons of Climate Engineering Workgroup of American Bipartisan Policy Center, gave a speech on “The Future of Energy in California: Reaction towards 2050 Climate Goal.” TENG Fei, Deputy Director of Tsinghua-Berkeley Energy and Climate Research Center, Associate Professor of Institute of Energy, Environment and Economy, Tsinghua University, expressed his thoughts about the prospect of energy development as a commentator. CHEN Ling, Associate Professor of SPPM, Deputy Director of CIDEG, moderated the Salon. Dr Long stated that only through setting up standards on greenhouse gas emissions directly can the goal of controlling emissions of CO2 be achieved, and also emphasized that the best choice for controlling greenhouse gas emissions is cooperation on the regional level.
